Escape from Tarkov Error 260 | Servers Temporarily Unavailable

It’s not always easy being an Escape from Tarkov fan. Sometimes the game glitches or crashes; other times it won’t load, or simply refuses to connect. In the case of error 260, it seems as if the game can’t even contact the servers. What does Escape from Tarkov error 260 mean, and what should you do when you find the servers temporarily unavailable? Read on to find out.

Escape from Tarkov | Error 260 Servers Temporarily Unavailable

Escape from Tarkov error 260 servers temporarily unavailable
Escape from Tarkov error 260 appears when the game client cannot reach the game’s servers. That’s why the message says “servers temporarily unavailable.” Most of the time, error 260 appears during unplanned server outages.
Error 260 is very closely tied with error 213. In fact, both errors tend to appear around the same time and under the same circumstances. As you may expect, both of these errors show up when servers go down.
Fortunately, neither error 260 nor error 213 correspond to any problem with the game client itself. Breathe easy: There’s probably nothing wrong with your PC. These errors both correspond to server-side network issues, and they tend to appear when an update to Escape from Tarkov is being deployed.
As such, there’s nothing you need to do to fix error 260. You’ll be able to reconnect to the game once the game’s servers have stabilized. However, if you suspect that your game software or home network is causing the issue, it’s worth checking on the current server status. Websites like DownDetector can help you rule out any local issues, and the Battlestate Games Twitter account will keep you up-to-date on any planned server maintenance.
If you run into Escape from Tarkov error 260, don’t fret. The servers are temporarily unavailable, either for maintenance or due to an unplanned outage. You should be able to reconnect to the game as soon as the servers come back online.

Is there an Escape from Tarkov single-player mode?

Escape from Tarkov single-player
There is no single-player campaign mode in Escape from Tarkov. There is, however, an offline mode. The offline mode is meant for practice against and with AI players. Ideally, you will practice in the game’s offline mode before heading online. Playing the game this way ought to give you an understanding of the maps and feel of different weapons before you take it all on in an unfriendly online setting. There is technically a single-player mode in Escape from Tarkov, then, but it is not a story/campaign mode. It is planned, though, that story quests of some kind will be added into the game at some point.

We don’t know when the story quests will be added to Escape from Tarkov, nor do we know what form they will take. We might see campaign quests that tell a story during online play, for example. Sides to the main of the online modes. The planned story quests could come in the form of single-player levels, too. All we know is that as of May 2020 (as per this Reddit thread), Escape from Tarkov story quests are planned. No time-frame or further details have been given as of writing.
For now, the only Escape from Tarkov single-player offering is the game’s offline mode, which is meant for practice. We’ll have to wait and see if a full single-player story/campaign mode is added to the game in the future.

Read on to find out if you keep the loot you find during offline mode to use again or not. We’ll also let you know the answer to “do you lose Escape from Tarkov offline mode items?” in the guide below. Find out all you need to know about the game’s offline mode right here.

Do you keep items in Escape from Tarkov offline mode?

Do you keep items in Escape from Tarkov offline mode
No. Once you finish your offline mode match in Escape from Tarkov, you lose all items, loot, XP, and stats you have found and gained. The offline mode in Escape from Tarkov is meant for practice and practice only. Any and all items you find when playing an offline mode match you do not keep. It’s a nil-sum game; you neither lose nor gain any loot, XP, and stats from playing the game’s offline mode.

Offline mode in Escape from Tarkov is meant for practice. It’s recommended that before heading online you try out the offline mode. This will give you a lay of the land and experience in using the game’s different weapons. It’s a very good mode to try out for those of you who are new to the game, with the ability to play against AI bots and with different weather conditions. As stated above, though, you will lose anything you gain upon finishing an offline raid. It is simply meant for practice.
Unlike the game’s online modes, however, in offline mode, you do not lose your items when you die. This means that you can practice as freely as you like with a particular weapon or piece of gear attached. Now, get out there and practice, soldier.

Is Escape from Tarkov free-to-play?

Is Escape from Tarkov free-to-play? This question has been on many players’ minds after hearing about the game or watching it on streams. After all, some of the hottest games in the world right now are using the free-to-play model. But is the same true for the Battlestate Games first-person shooter? Is Escape from Tarkov free, or will it launch as a free-to-play game?

ALSO: How to download Escape from Tarkov
Some might think it’s a bit silly to ask if Escape from Tarkov is free, but the question is valid. The game has been wildly popular on streaming platforms such as Twitch or Mixer, which lumps it together with games that are actually free-to-play, such as Fortnite: Battle Royale or Apex Legends. Still, this is just a matter of association, not an indication of how much the game costs.
Escape from Tarkov is currently available for preorder purchase in four different editions. The price starts at $44.99 for the Standard Edition and goes all the way up to $139.99 for the Edge of Darkness Limited Edition. Regardless of which version you choose, the game will come bundled with an assortment of different equipment and items. For more details, check out our guide detailing the Escape from Tarkov price and bundle differences.
Sorry, folks: Escape from Tarkov is not free. Don’t let its association with other free-to-play games confuse you, as you’ll need to spend money if you want to download and play it. If buzz around the internet is any indication, the game is well worth the purchase. But if you’re still on the fence, try watching some streams to determine if Battlestate Games’ FPS release is right for you.

Is Escape From Tarkov On PS4?

Is Escape from Tarkov on PS4Battlestate Games‘ first-person shooter MMO was originally made available in Alpha form to PC users back in August 2016, and received a Closed Beta in July the following year – a state it currently remains in. But is a Escape from Tarkov PS4 release in the pipeline? Let’s find out!

Escape From Tarkov PS4

Battlestate Games has not announced plans for an Escape from Tarkov PS4 release yet, and appears to be focussed on the PC version. However, an FAQ posted back in 2015 revealed that a console version was being considered, although the same was said about Steam, which has yet to happen either.
We are considering it, but it’s too early to talk about that.
That was the last the studio discussed a PS4 and/or Xbox One release of the game, so don’t get your hopes up for the time being. Rest assured, we’ll bring you more details about a possible console version as we get them. Honestly, with the massive PS4 userbase and the sheer popularity of the game, we reckon that Escape From Tarkov on PlayStation 4 will probably happen.

What Is Escape From Tarkov?

Here’s the full blurb:
Escape from Tarkov is a hardcore and realistic online first-person action RPG/Simulator with MMO features and a story-driven walkthrough.
With each passing day the situation in the Norvinsk region grows more and more complicated. Incessant warfare in Tarkov has sparked massive panic; the local population has fled the city, but those who stayed are looking to improve their fortunes at the expense of others. Having accepted the new reality, savage Tarkov locals – “Scavs” flocked into well-armed gangs and started the redivision of the city.
Nowadays, Tarkov is separated by unseen borders, controlled by different groups. Gain-greedy gunmen would go to any length to have their way, including the murder of civilians and direct confrontation with the two private military companies.
The players will have to experience living in the skin of one of the mercenaries who survived the initial stage of the Tarkov conflict. After choosing one of the sides – USEC or BEAR – the player’s character starts to make his way out of the city.
Tarkov is sealed off by UN and Russian military, supply chains are cut, communication with operational command is lost, and in these conditions everyone has to make his own choices of what to do and how to get out of the chaos-ridden metropolis.

Escape from Tarkov about to blow up on Twitch again because drops are back

You can once again earn Escape from Tarkov items by watching the game on Twitch.
Escape from Tarkov has brought back its very popular Twitch drops event. It kicked off earlier today, and will remain available until Sunday, June 21 at 11pm PT, or 2am ET, 7am BST (June 22).
Every day, a different set of Twitch streamers will enable drops on their channels. On June 21, all participating streamers will have drops on simultaneously.
Drops can be weapons, equipment and some rare items. Battlestate didn’t specify a set number of hours you’ll need to watch in order to qualify. That said, it’s cumulative, so feel free to switch between streams at will, so long as they’re part of the promo.
Keep in mind, however, that whatever you get won’t have the Found in Raid tag, which means you won’t be able to sell it on the in-game flea market.
To get drops, you’d need to own the game, and have your EFT profile linked with your Twitch account. Hit the official blog for a full list of participating streamers.
This is the second time in Tarkov’s history that Twitch drops have been enabled. The first was in December last year, and it caused the game to break into the mainstream and set new Twitch records. This will likely happen again

Escape from Tarkov devs reveal new map & changes for patch 12.7

The new Escape from Tarkov map has been revealed, and lead developer at Battlestate Games, Nikita Buyanov, has also revealed what they have planned for the next update, patch 12.7.
Battlestate has been on a roll in 2020 with frequent updates addressing players' complaints, adding new features and improving stability and performance in Tarkov.
They are continuing to ramp things up, unveiling their biggest map yet during the PC Gaming show, which will take the fight for survival to a more urban environment.
"It will be the biggest and most detailed location ever," Nikita explained, "there will be a lot of explorable buildings and underground [areas]. It's an attempt to recreate the realistic modern city."

A short preview of the map, showing a player entering an exquisitely detailed building and then checking out the view of the skyline, gives us a glimpse at what exactly Nikita is talking about.

What's coming in Patch 12.7?

In addition to discussing the new map, Nikita also dived into some explanation of what players can expect from the 12.7 update.

"12.7 is more like a technical patch. It will include the big addition called the expansion of Customs location. It will enlarge the overall area by 30, or ever 40%."

Then, in the next update (presumably 12.8), Battlestate will "totally overhaul the skill system," and introduce a new boss, Senator, who will be able to heal his partners and search for stashes.
"A really big amount of cool features are to come this year, we'll try to bring some new experiences for you," he concluded.
Unfortunately, no dates were given, but it could still be a few months away or more. After all, the most recent wipe in Tarkov was only a matter of weeks ago.
